Obituary of Bert Monster

MONSTER, Bert Peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Bert passed away on Monday, August 17, 2015 at Hospice Niagara at the age of 72. Beloved husband of 46 years to Ann. Loving father of David (Charlotte) and Karen DeLazzari. Proud Opa of Emma and Jake. Dear brother of Ed and John Monster, Miriam Trzok, Joyce Veska and Marsha Wilson. Bert will be greatly missed by many family and friends. Bert worked for Ontario Paper for over 25 years. He was a proud parishioner of Star of the Sea Parish, and after he became Catholic, Bert dedicated himself to the RCIA program, where he worked closely with Fr. Peter Rowe, Fr. Randy Gallant and Fr. Stan Pietlock. Bert’s family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Thursday, August 20, from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, August 21, from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Star of the Sea Church, 34 Elgin St., on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations given to Hospice Niagara, would be appreciated by Bert’s family.
