Obituary of Giovanna Biancaniello

BIANCANIELLO, Giovanna On Monday, April 27, 2015, Giovanna, in her 82nd year was called from this life by our Lord. She was a devoted and loving wife of the late Amato (2012). The dearest mother to Michael (Sylvia), Pino (Cindy), Anthony (Angela) and Maria Rosaria (Chris). Giovanna was a cherished and loving Nonna to Rachel, Adam, Joseph, Jacob, Andrew, Brandon, Carly, Jaden and Justin. She was a loving daughter of the late Giuseppe and Maria Carmela Carbonara of Italy and daughter- in-law to the late Michele and Rachela Biancaniello of Italy. Giovanna was a dear sister to Antonio (Rosa) Carbonara, the late Angelo (Caterina) Carbonara of St. Catharines, Peppino (Elenora) Carbonara, Anna Maria (the late Franco) DelGiudice, the late Filomena and Vincenzo Acquavivola of Italy. Sister-in-law of Emilia (Amato) Prudente, the late Antonio (Letizia) Biancaniello, Filomena (the late Generoso) DelliGatti of Italy, Felice (Maria) Biancaniello, Raffaele (Ida) Biancaniello, of St. Catharines, Gerardo and Maria (Michele) Fumagallo of Italy. Zia Gianna will also be greatly missed by her many nephews, nieces and so many dear friends and neighbours. Giovanna was a faithful member of St. Alfred's Parish and a proud member of the Club Roma choir. The family would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank you" to Corina Bleich who was not only a caregiver to our mother but a dear special friend. We are forever grateful. Friends and family will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. on Thursday, April 30th, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine St. on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Fonthill. Vigil prayers will be celebrated in the funeral home on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. Expressions of sympathy to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, in lieu of flowers, would be sincerely appreciated by Giovanna's family.
