Obituary of Kay Racine

RACINE, Catherine "Kay" With the love and support of her family, Kay peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the St. Catharines General Hospital, in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Omer. Dear mother of Ellen (Ron) Mackay of Beachburg, Lynne (the late John) Steenbergen of Barrie, Bob (Linda) Racine, Paulette (Bob) Koop, Glen Racine all of St. Catharines, Michael Racine of Niagara Falls. Loving Grandma of 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Clement. She will missed by her many nieces, nephews and extended family. Kay was predeceased by her granddaughter, Kristie, also by her siblings Mary, Ellen, Harry, Cecilia, Teresa, Bridgette, Jim, Alice, Martin, Margaret, George and by her sister-in-law, Verla. Kay was a resident of Ina Grafton for the past 9 years, where she loved; Thursday night card games, Lida's Cafe and most important all of her friends she made there throughout the years. Kay will be fondly remembered for her warm smile and her compassionate nature. A very special thank you to the staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital, especially to Dr. Banayan, staff of the 3rd floor and to the staff at Ina Grafton for their exceptional care and support. Kay's family will receive family and friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Wednesday, March 25 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Kay's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow the service, at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Hwy 20, Fonthill. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be given to the Juvenile Diabetes Association or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
