Obituary of Ella Axana March

MARCH, Ella Axana (nee Chorney) Passed away on Wednesday, September 17th, 2014. Much loved and deeply missed Mom of Norine Plato and her husband Don. Proud Nana and loving best friend to Alexa. Cherished sister of Elsie Melnychuk. Predeceased by her parents, Nick and Maria, and siblings Lena, Bill, George, Dora, Alec, Ann and Muriel. Ella will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends across Canada. Proud of her Ukrainian heritage, Ella was born in Foam Lake, Sask. and moved to Ontario at a young age. She was a co-owner of Canadian Tire stores in Edmundston, N.B. and Fort Erie, ON. Ella enjoyed volunteering with the Lioness Club and Newcomers Club in St. Catharines. She was known for her sense of humour and her love of cooking, square dancing, gardening and traveling. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Sunday, September 21st from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Panachyda will take place on Sunday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Monday, September 22nd at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. A private family burial will take place.
